Dashboard Update Information released

Microsoft have been a little bit busy today by announcing some of the stuff we can expect to see in the next Dashboard update coming sometime early Autumn.

Below is some of the details on what we will be getting.

NetFlix Update
Nothing to do with us so it's a bit pointless telling you what to expect.

Avatar MarketPlace
You probably thought that all of these clothes and updates that we have been getting for avatar have been nice of Microsoft for giving them to us for free well they will do what they do best and start to charge us for exclusive clothing from some the games we play by adding a marketplace for our avatars.

Games On Demand
Like they said back at E3 the classic game section is going bye-bye and it will be replaced by the On Demand service where you will be able to download certain 360 titles plus you will also get access to a digital copy of the manual for it.

User Ratings
If you've ever wanted to give a game on the marketplace a score so you can warn people how bad a game is or tell them how fantastic one is well fear not as you will be able to do that come this Autumn as Microsoft is adding a rating system where you will be able to score games out of 5 stars, you will also be able to easily find games by using this stars system as well.

Xbox Live Party
The party system will change a little bit as well with you being able to invite somebody to your party with just one button press and also if they lose connection and get kicked from your party they will instantly be put back into your party without you doing anything.

Video Display Options
If you like to tinker around with the options so you can set things to your standards you will be able to do that as Microsoft will enable you set the picture and sound options to the way you want them.

Other Things of Interest
- If you want to show off how long you have been a gold member then you will be able to get a stamp next to your name telling people how long you have been with Xbox Live.
- The Achievement list will be made easier for you to navigated through when you are playing a game thus making it easier to gloat to all of your friends that you have an achievement that they don't have.
- You will not be able to sent a blank voice message as a little bleep will go off telling you that your message is blank and that you need to say something.
- It seems that they will also be making it more easier for us to redeem codes, recover gamertags, check active downloads and many other things when the update comes out.

So these are a few of the thing that will be in the update coming out this Autumn you will however notice that a few things have not been mentioned including Twitter, Facebook, Last FM and the Sky dashboard add-on that was announced at this years E3 for us in the UK.

Exclusive Prestige and Price for Modern Warafre 2

The other day Activision decided to show off the three version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and the version everybody was looking forward to was the Prestige Edition that comes with a pair of real night vision goggles, well it now seems that Activison wanted to drop not one but two bombs for us people in the UK.

After the Prestige version was shown off the price for the US version was also released with a tag of $149.
Yesterday Activison decided to be arseholes by stating that the UK version of the standard edition will retail at £54.99, however it now seems that Activison are going for the biggest twats in the gaming industry today as the price for the Prestige Edition has now been released for us.

Before i get to the price though there is also a little bit more of news to add and thats HMV will be the only place you can buy the Prestige Edition in the UK.

So what about the price well me and a few friends were predicting that it will drop at around £80-£100 but we were wrong as the really price is a huge £119.99, yep you have read that corectly it will cost us a hefty £120 quid.

If you are still interested in it the game is out on 10th November where now i know i will be buying the standard edition.

Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition

Just in case you cannot be bothered with looking at the video above here is a lovely picture of the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

You see Activision doesn't just want to have 1 version of the game they want to be different and have three.

So what are these 3 well the first is the bog standard edition that will feature just the game then there is the steel box version that will come with a art book however it's the Prestige Edition that will have gamers drooling at the mouth.

With the Prestige Edition you not only get the Steel book version of the game but you also get a real pair of night vision goggles, a nice bust to keep the goggles on when you are not using them and finally a code that will enable you to download Call of Duty off the Arcade or Playstation Store free of charge.

The prices have not be released yet however we can guess that the Prestige Edition will not be cheap as rumors have been going round that the standard edition will retail at £54.99

E3 what are we doing

As you can tell if you are into videogames one of the biggest events is about to land in the next few weeks in the form of E3 and as usual we will be covering as much stuff as we can so what the hell are we doing this year well i'm going to tell you.

First off we will be posting as many trailers as we possible can so you can see for yourself what to expect in the near future, secondly i will be taking up the hard task of keeping you up to date with each one of the big three's press conference on our twitter account so you can read up to the minute info on what's happening in each press conference.

Now those two things seem big well i'm not stopping there as i will have a run up to E3 where i will predict on what i think that will be shown and announced at E3 and finally there will be a big (and i mean big) news blast each day just incase you have missed anything (and why would you).

So check back here next week for the run up to E3 and don't forget the main event kicks off on June 1st where your eyes should be peeled on our twittwr account or the feed tothe left of you.

The Fallout Steel has been Broken

Bethesda have been very very busy as of late, not only have they released two exclusive expansion packs for Fallout 3 called Operation Anchorage and The Pitt but they have had to fix a problem with the last DLC by taking it down not once but twice.
On top of all that trouble they also announced a new Fallout game entitled New Vegas that will take place in the Fallout universe but will not be a sequel.

Well it now seems that they are going to the extreme by announcing the third DLC entitled Broken Steel and that we can get our hands on it on the 5th of May.

So what is Broken Steel well instead of them giving us a whole new area to explore they are keeping things to the wastelands with three brand new mission in the form of Death From Above, Shock Value and Who Dares Wins plus they have also added new super mutants and extra weapons (these are unknown at the moment).
Now the above might seem really nice but there are a few cherries on the cake and some big ones at that, first off we have 6 new achievements adding another 150 gamerscore to the already 1250, secondly you will be able to continue the game after you have finished and finally the level cap has been raised from 20 to 30.

So if you are a fan of Fallout like me (and i know a few) this DLC will be the best one so far.

Oh one last thing don't forget it's out on the 5 May and will come in at a nice 800 points

Resi 5 help

While trying to think up new things to do for the site (which by the way check out the shoutbox) i thought i might try an put videos on the site without using any of the usual players (youtube, gametrailers etc).

Well i managed to succeed with the new COD trailer so here is my atempt at a second one this time however from IGN.

So what is in this trailer well if you have Xbox Live you will know something called IGN Strategize that is uploaded once a week with tips for a certain game well i thought what if i was to put that video up here as well.

It's time to survive Left 4 Dead

A while ago Valve announced a few things coming to Left 4 Dead we have gotten one of those things in the form of an update that fixed a lot of issues etc, we are however waiting for two more things and the good news is that there is a release date for one of those.

Coming on the 21st April the survival pack will see the light of day and with it we will get survival mode which pit's up to 4 people against wave after wave of zombies a bit like Horde mode in Gears of War 2.
Also part of this survival pack will be the chance to play Death Toll and Dead Air in versus mode.

Just to add a little cherry on the cake is the fact that this update will set us back £0 so we will not have to pull out one single penny for these added extra goodies.

Left 4 Dead update out now

For all of those people who have stuck by this fantastic game will be happy to learn that there is a new update out that fixes a lot of issues, there is some bad news though the DLC still has no release date yet.

Below is the list of the issues that have been fixed.

Fixed Survivors being able to climb surfaces marked for versus infected only
Fixed a class of SurvivorBot bugs dealing with rescuing downed players
Players can no longer grab ladders while flying through the air after a Tank punch
Shooting near a car with an alarm that has already fired the alarm will no longer make chirping noises
Fixed mini-gun physics exploit
Fixed propane tanks (and other physics objects) causing players to fall through elevators
Fixed rare achievement bug issues
Fixed several map exploits

Versus Changes
Added HUD elements to show status of other infected players
Fixed instance where a Survivor changing to the infected team would be attacked by infected bots
Normalized special infected melee damage
Fixed exploit where infected players could run away and teleport back to gain health
Players can only change teams once per map
Players can't change teams while other players are still loading
Tank spawns at the same % through the map for both teams in versus mode
Made the Tank and Witch spawn directly on the escape route

Hunter
Easier to pounce a Survivor who is meleeing
Increased Minimum damage a Hunter pounce does

Smoker
Fixed Smoker tongue tolerance
Smoker now has to be killed or the tongue destroyed for the tongue to break
Survivors cannot bash someone off the tongue until the Survivor being pulled is paralyzed or hanging
Tongue attacks that fail to paralyze or hang a Survivor will use the shorter ability delay timer
Fixed cases where the ability timer was not using the correct time
Fixed case where you could point at a Survivor but not register a tongue hit
Fixed Smoker tongue not targeting and landing properly through PZ ghosts
Smoker tongue does damage every second while dragging paralyzed Survivors

Tank
Bashable objects now appear with a red glow
Tanks hitting a car with an alarm disables the alarm permanently
Tank frustration timer is only reset by hitting Survivors with rocks or fists
Reduced autoshotgun damage against Tanks

Witch
Witch spawns at the same % through the map for both teams
Avoids spawning within a certain % of the tank
Fixed an exploit where the Witch could be woken up and tricked into attacking Survivors

Red Resi Evil 360 Elite

Check out the new red 360 released side by side with Resident Evil 5 on the 13th March.

In the box you get a limited edition red 360 elite along side a copy of Resident Evil 5 a code to download Street Fight 2 Hd remix from the marketplace and the usual stuff that is stuffed inside the Elite console box.

Burnout DLC price released

Well as you know the legendary cars for burnout are out tomorrow so Criterion has released the price of the cars so be prepared to be shocked.

Below is the price breakdown for you to have a little giggle and cry at.

Manhattan Spirit (ghostbusters) = 160 points
Carson Nighthawk (Knightrider) = 160 points
Cavalry Bootlegger (Dukes of Hazard) = 160 points
88 Special (Back to the Future0 = 320 points

now if you add that up it comes to 800 points however if you buy it as a pack then they will only set you back 600 points.

So what do you think of this price point as i think it's a bit high but you do have to realise that they have given us a lot of free stuff so this might be making it up for them but you do have to think will this be the way criterion do it and that there upcoming paid for DLC will also carry a high price point

More Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead for me was one of the best games of 2008 so when Valve decided to announce the news that we had been waiting for that there will be downloadable content i was so happy.

People started to try and guess what it could be and all signs pointed towards new movie campaigns or new versus maps so when they said that the DLC will be a new mode and the other two movies (dead air and death toll) will be the DLC people started to be a little pissed off that is nothing new however Valve have shut people up by announcing today that the DLC will be FREE and that we will not have to pull out 1 Microsoft point.

So to all of those people out that who was pissed off with valve by it not being new stuff now should shut the hell up and be grateful that Valve are giving this away for free.

The DLC has no release date yet only sometime in the spring but i will put it up here when i do find the date out
