Now i've gone over the storyline in a basic enough form so that i won't spoil the movie for you and i've done a quick little synopsis on the film itself, now in part three of my sunshine special it's time to tell you what i really thought of it.
In short the film was very good, now i know your wondering why i did'nt say excellent it's because the film does have a few little floors for instance there are a few times during the movie where you say to yourself when the hell is something going to happen, and the introduction of the capatin from the icarus 1 is a bit silly but unlike what most critics said i did like the ending of the movie.
The thing that steals the show for me is how fantastic the sun itself looks, never before has the sun ever looked so great the solar flares coming off it are so real you feel like they are going to hit you and it shines so bright in some scenes it makes you feel like you are near to the sun and not the actors.
Another aspect of the film that was fantastic was the sound, now i know that danny boyle wanted the sound to play a major part in this movie and it has worked really well, never before have i felt goose bumps from sound in a movie but there is a scene involving the death of the captain of the icarus 2 where the sound really gets ramped up and really gets you all covered in those neat little goose bumps.
Overal this is a film worth seeing, yes the film can seem a bit to long and yes some people can see why the critics thought that the ending was a bit silly but you can see why this has been 3 years in development as danny boyle has really made a good job of it.
The only problem now for us is that danny boyle said that he does'nt want to do another sci-fi movie so i hope that he does'nt go back to his old style and he keeps on bringing us films like this.
Now we can be more proud of being british when it comes to movies as the latest british directors to come onto the scene in the last few years have ignited the industry and have put a flame under the arse of mr boyle and showed us that he can make something different instead of the old stupid british gangster movie.
